Tips for Getting Selected
Find the Free Trial tab.
The first thing to know is where Shein hides the program. It's not on the home screen—it's in a specific menu that sometimes changes its name. In the Shein app (iOS or Android) , open the side menu and look for "Free Trial" —it's a navigation item that appears along with "Points Center" and "Reviews." In some versions of the app, the tab also appears as "Product Tester" or "Try for Free." Tap to open the job center.
If you prefer to use a desktop computer , go directly to shein.com/free-trial-center — it works in any browser, no app needed. The interface is the same: product list, filter by category, and an “Apply” button on each eligible item.
Within the central database, use the filters by category (clothing, accessories, beauty, home, etc.) to narrow down the list. Each product shows: photo, original price, review deadline after receiving, and number of remaining slots. Highly sought-after slots disappear in a few hours—that's why the following tip is what separates those who get in from those who miss out.
Apply for the Product
Have you chosen the job? Now it's time to apply correctly. In the selected product, tap or click on “Apply” (black or red button, depending on the app version). A window will open asking for 3 confirmations:
- Choose the size and/or color. — Select carefully; after confirming, you cannot change it without canceling the entire application.
- Please confirm your US delivery address. Shein only ships to valid US addresses. Please ensure the ZIP code is correct and that the recipient's name matches the account name.
- Accept the program terms. — These are 2-3 sentences stating that you will leave an honest review within 14 days of receiving the item.
After confirming, the status changes to “Application Submitted” and you receive a push notification (if you have notifications enabled) and an automatic confirmation email. Shein reviews applications within 3 to 7 business days . If approved, the product will be included in your next Shein order — free shipping, at no extra cost.
Track the Status and Receive
After applying, Shein will notify you of the result via push notification (in the app) and email . The standard timeframe for internal review is 14 days from the application date — but in practice, most approved applicants receive a response within 3-7 days. Keep an eye on the “My Applications” tab in the Free Trial Center to see the updated status in real time.
If you're not accepted, it's not the end of the world —it happens to most applicants on their first try. The 3 most common reasons for rejection are:
- There are few previous reviews on your profile. Shein values testers who already leave detailed feedback. Fewer than 5 reviews = "newbie" profile = lower chance.
- Profile without a user photo. Anonymous accounts inspire less confidence in the selection algorithm. Use a real photo (any photo is fine, it doesn't need to be professional).
- Try applying for items above $80 right away. Expensive products have limited slots and go to experienced testers. Start with items priced at $10-$30 until you build a reputation.
Tips for Getting Selected
- Have 3+ reviews with photos in the last 30 days — that's the minimum threshold for the algorithm to consider you an active tester.
- Complete your profile with actual photo (It doesn't have to be professional—a selfie at home will do).
- activate push notifications From the Shein app — limited spots disappear in a few hours, and the instant notification makes all the difference.
- Apply preferably for products below $30 These are the ones with the most job openings and the least competition.
- Use the filter of category with the most open positions to see where Shein is testing the most products this month — See the updated ranking by category here..

“I was ignored every time. When I started leaving long reviews with photos, in 2 months I was selected 4 times. Today I receive 3-5 free products per month.”

SEE STRATEGY TO INCREASE APPROVAL RATINGS →
Results vary by profile. This tutorial is for informational purposes only and does not guarantee approval for all applications. Shein may change the rules of the Free Trial Center without prior notice.
1. Can I apply for any product?
Yes, but smaller items (under $30) with many pending reviews have a much higher chance of approval. Large products (over $80) are rare and go to experienced testers with a solid track record of detailed reviews. If you're starting out, focus on small items to build your reputation.
2. Does the program work on both the app and the website?
Yes, the Free Trial Center works both on the Shein app (iOS/Android) and on the desktop website (shein.com/free-trial-center). However, the app often has exclusive spots that disappear within a few hours. Enable push notifications in the app to receive real-time alerts—those who are notified first have a clear advantage in securing the most sought-after spots.
3. What to do if it is not approved?
Keep buying and leaving detailed reviews with photos. Your profile gains weight with each review—it's a cumulative system. In 30-60 days of consistent activity, your chances increase significantly (typical approval rate rises from 10% to 40-60%). Don't get discouraged by the first rejections: it's part of the profile "warming up" process.
